 113547 Flying Officer Douglas GOODWIN

The family of the above have given us a photograph of him and he had an interesting

military career in WWI as an army  Corporal in the 11th Leicester's, he was then 62487

Cpl Douglas Goodwin.

Post WWI he joined the Royal Air Force and became 845096 Corporal D Goodwin.

He later applied for a commission and was gazetted in the London Gazette 3rd March 1942

Issue 35476 to become 113547 Acting Pilot Officer (probationary /  emergency) Douglas

Goodwin on 12th December 1941.His next promotion was  gazetted in the London Gazette

28th April 1942 Issue 35541 to become confirmed in his appointment as113547 Pilot Officer

(probationary) Douglas Goodwin on 12th December 1941.Next he was gazetted in the London

 Gazette 10th November 1942 Issue 35874 to become 113547 Flying Officer Douglas Goodwin

(probation (war subs)) on 1st October 1942.
