647872 CORPORAL WILFRED GORDON ALLEN

The Allen family have been kind enough to send us a series of pictures of the above

Balloon Operator and his comrades in WWII. He was born in St.Austell, Cornwall.

He was most likely in 914 Squadron and was based around, Borrowdale Road,

Northfield, Birmingham. It was there that he met  his future wife, who he married at

St.Bridgets R.C. Church in Northfield.

These are a great selection of pictures showing a Balloon Unit.

is the 4th from the right in the front row. Smart turnout!
