983657 L.A.C. Archibald McNAB

 

Archibald McNab, was born in Dalmeny (near South Queensferry), Scotland on 22 October 1918.

His parents were William McNab and Beatrice Parker.

Archie worked in the Distillery in South Queensferry prior to joining the RAF in September 1939.

Archie is standing 3rd from the left.

The back of this photograph has a series of names including P/O Noel K Lawton.

Here is Archie with crew, kneeling 2nd from right, in the background is the Forth bridge so this suggests he was in

992 Squadron.

He may have served in Sheffield, Rosyth / Queensferry, Orkney and Holland.

He died in Edinburgh in 1969 and is buried in South Queensferry.
